Lisa Goebel’s son is already a romantic.
The mom of four shared a heartwarming video on her TikTok account on Aug. 29 after she noticed that her youngest had been leaving notes to her around the house. In the clip, which went viral, Goebel shared a few of the sweet notes from her son.
“Hey mom, here’s a thank you gift for being the best mom and good morning I love you,” one note read that Goebel found taped to her fridge.

Another time, she went to pack her son’s lunch and found a note taped to the cabinet door.
“Hi good morning mom, I hope you have a good day,” the note read. “I’m just helping you out. I hope your back feels better soon I love you. Have a great day mom.”
The proud mom tells PEOPLE that notes are constantly used in her household to help convey how much they all love each other.
“Notes are a constant in this house. Messages of love never get old around here,” Goebel says. “It makes us proud to know we’ve shown them how great showing your love can be.”
“If we can be the example of the good stuff in life, then we’ve succeeded as parents! This IS the good stuff,” she adds.

Goebel explains that she started using notes in her sons’ lunches and that messages in her husband’s lunch also became a very common thing.
“I would write on the foil that his sandwiches were wrapped in and stand them in the fridge, so it was the first thing he would see,” she says. “I’m sure the kids would see it too. Hearts and all.”
“I would leave notes on the kitchen counter for him and our boys would see them when they came down in the mornings. Sometimes our notes were made of candy,” Goebel says. “Just messages of love back and forth before his workday started.”
“We’ve received notes from all four of our boys over the years,” explains the mom of four. “Sweet, kind-hearted notes filled with their love for us. Many I’ve kept…like bottled pieces of their hearts that I can keep forever.”
