Country music superstar Brad Paisley just dropped a brand-new holiday song—and it’s already making spirits bright. His single, “Counting Down the Days,” is the official anthem for Hallmark Channel’s beloved Countdown to Christmas event, the annual programming marathon that has become a holiday tradition for millions of fans.
The country superstar released the track on Wednesday, September 17, across all digital platforms. Co-written with frequent collaborator Chris DuBois, fans caught the first glimpse this morning when Hallmark unveiled its holiday promo during The Today Show’s “Pop Start” segment, and the song is already setting the tone for this year’s lineup of cozy premieres.
Paisley isn’t stopping with one song. He has also co-written two more original tracks for Hallmark’s new movie A Grand Ole Opry Christmas, starring Nikki DeLoach (Curious Caterer Mysteries) and Kristoffer Polaha (A Biltmore Christmas). The film debuts on Thanksgiving weekend — Saturday, Nov. 29 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Hallmark Channel and streams the next day on Hallmark+.

In true Opry fashion, Paisley himself will appear in the movie alongside country favorites and familiar Opry faces, making the special feel even more like a family affair.
“The Hallmark Channel to me is a major part of finding the joy and the spirit of the holidays,” said Paisley of partnering with them for the 2025 holiday season. “We turn it on and leave it on in our house like Christmas tree lights or decorations, it’s a major part of the atmosphere for us. I loved the challenge of creating that same magic with this music by letting it take you to the same place that these movies and this world Hallmark has built. Can’t wait for you to hear what all we’ve done. Also, knowing the Opry is the setting for one of these movies is very inspiring.”
Beyond decking the halls with Hallmark, Paisley is teasing that more new music is on the way. In the meantime, he’s hitting the road with his “Truck Still Works World Tour” in Canada, kicking off Nov. 4 in Abbotsford, BC, and wrapping Dec. 13 in Ottawa.
