Charlie Sheen has openly admitted that he would die if he ever touched drugs again, following his well-documented struggles with addiction.
The star of Two and a Half Men, now 60 years old and eight years sober, shared this chilling revelation while updating fans on his health in his new memoir and a two-part Netflix documentary.
In the project, he reflects on his past behavior and confesses that he never expected to reach his current age.
He also shares that he’s feeling “pretty good” at present, thanks to a strict fitness regimen he adheres to.
This is a stark contrast to his previous lifestyle, marked by two highly publicized and messy divorces and constant media scrutiny. In an interview with People Magazine, he confessed, “Most of my 50s were spent apologising to the people I hurt… I own everything I did.”
Sheen explains that his new memoir is simply his way of recounting events as they truly occurred. This includes multiple stints in rehab, and he admits it’s a miracle he only experienced one overdose and a near-death experience during his wildest partying days, reports the Mirror.
When discussing his journey to sobriety, he emphasized the importance of willingness. His primary motivation for changing his ways was to become a better, more dependable father to his children: Cassandra, 41, Sami, 21, Lola, 20, and twins Max and Bob, 16.
“I keep a [mental list] of the worst, most shameful things I’ve done, and I can look at that in my head if I feel like having a drink,” he revealed before confessing he has zero desire to return to his drug-using past.

Nevertheless, he also frankly stated, “Whether it’s true or not, I like to think the next hit would kill me.” He explained that during the peak of his stardom, when he was pulling in $1.8m per episode of his blockbuster sitcom, his behavior became unpredictable.
Previously, he had bragged about “banging seven gram rocks” of cocaine and declaring he had “tiger blood” coursing through his veins.
Charlie acknowledged that he continues to grow as he attempts to forgive his past behavior and decisions. He mentioned there are occasional moments that trigger the “shame shivers.”
Yet he noted gratefully those instances are becoming more infrequent, calling it “progress.”
Following a break from acting, Charlie has verified he would be eager to return to television if the timing feels right. Still, he emphasized it’s currently about approaching things one day at a time.
“I’m not calling all of this a comeback,” he continued while describing his recent ventures. “I’m calling it a reset. I’m just living for the next moment, whatever that turns out to be.”
