Emily Maynard has broken her silence after her daughter, Ricki Hendrick, 20, announced she is expecting her first child.
The former Bachelorette star, 39, appeared on Hendrick’s Instagram Story on Thursday, September 11, where she jokingly called the situation “unforgivable.”
In the clip, Hendrick read a fan’s question about how her family felt about her planning to have a baby “outside marriage.” Maynard jumped in to sarcastically reply, “Very against it. I cannot believe anybody would ever do that. Unforgivable.”
Hendrick continued the playful tone in a follow-up video, panning the camera to show a baby crib and a book about grandmothers that her mom had recently bought.
“My mom is truthfully so devastated, she’s so upset,” Hendrick said. “She’s not excited at all for me to have a baby. She’s pissed, actually. She’s super angry. She can’t even look at me. She doesn’t support it at all. She is pissed.”

As Star reported on Tuesday, August 26, Hendrick confirmed her pregnancy by sharing a sonogram photo on her Instagram Story, joking, “Netflix told me I’m not allowed to talk about it,” crediting Love Island USA contestant Huda Mustafa for the quote.
She also posted an ultrasound video, writing, “My heart is so full, yet my stomach is so empty because she hates all food. I’m convinced.”
Maynard shares Ricki with her late fiancé, Ricky Hendrick, a NASCAR driver who died in a plane crash in October 2004. The reality star went on to appear on season 15 of The Bachelor in 2011, where she got engaged to Brad Womack before splitting later that year. She became the season 8 Bachelorette in 2012, accepting a proposal from Jef Holm, though they ended their relationship that same year.
Maynard married Tyler Johnson in 2014, and the couple share five children: Jennings, 9, Gibson, 8, Gatlin, 7, Magnolia, 4, and Jones, 3. Ricki’s pregnancy marks Maynard’s first time becoming a grandmother.
