Greg Davies takes over hosting duties for 2026 BAFTA TV Awards
The Inbetweeners star, Greg Davies, replaces Alan Cumming as he gets the hosting duties of the 2026 BAFTA TV Awards.
The British comedian and television presenter, who currently hosts the Channel 4 quiz show Taskmaster, is set to host the ceremony on Sunday, May 10.
The TV Awards will take place at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall and will be broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer later that evening.
Taking on the hosting duties, Davies said that he was excited to be presenting, as per Variety.
“I see the whole event as an opportunity to wave a flag for this beloved medium and, with the exception of one commissioner, two execs and a co-star that I have personal beef with, I will do everything I can to ensure it’s a night of warm celebration for all,” Davies asserted.
The ceremony is likely to face heightened scrutiny this year following controversy at last month’s BAFTA Film Awards, where a racial slur inadvertently spoken by Tourette’s campaigner John Davidson was left unedited in the broadcast.
Alan Cumming, who hosted the film ceremony, became embroiled in the backlash after issuing an on-stage apology for Davidson’s strong language. He also fronted last year’s television awards.
