HAAi links with Echonomist for new single ‘Ignition’.
The DJ and producer will release new dancefloor focussed album ‘DIGITiSE’ on October 9th, a counterpart to her recent ‘HUMANiSE’ LP.
Out now, ‘Igniion’ displays her club finesse – a heads-down system mover, it taps in to the energy of a peak-time set.
Join by Echonomist, the tracks doubles as a moving coming-of-age tale, with HAAi – aka Teneil Throssell – reflecting on her youth as a queer kid in a small Australian town.
A song that grapples with freedom in both a physical and emotional sense, HAAi says of the song…
‘Ignition’ is a collaboration with Echonomist, someone whose music has shaped many of my sets since I started touring. Sonically, it’s a driving broken beat track that maintains a lot of innocence. Lyrically, it is deeply personal: documenting my coming-of-age as a queer kid in a small town, desperate to leave.
In the true spirit of ‘DIGITiSE’, ‘Ignition’ serves as a sequel to ‘Go!’, from my previous album ‘HUMANiSE’. Both tracks are so important to the storytelling of the albums, I’m glad to be able to take it to the place we feel the most free, the dancefloor.
Tune in now.
