HGTV star Erin Napier stood her ground in a shocking debate with her Instagram followers over the assassination of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk.
“Only the demonized celebrate death,” the Mississippi-based designer, 40, pointedly wrote on an Instagram Story the day after Kirk was murdered in Utah, on Wednesday, September 10, per the Daily Mail.
Some followers attacked the Turning Point USA founder’s beliefs and expressed outrage.
“I am revolted by some of the comments in my DMs,” replied Erin who has starred on the reno show Home Town with her husband, Ben Napier, since 2016. “Unfollow me, immediately, if you could be one of those comments. Christ, have mercy on us all.”
Two days later, the mom of two shared some of those comments from fans, who threatened to stop buying her products and watching her hit show. “Because I will not celebrate murder,” she wrote.

“Really, Erin? You are homeschooling your precious children in LAUREL, MS (of all places) to prevent something like this from happening to them. This guy was ALL FOR IT. He died for what he believed in. God have mercy on his soul because I do not,” one user wrote, quoting Kirk’s words following the 2023 Nashville school shooting.
“I think it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year, so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights,” Kirk said at the time.
Erin’s response? “You know nothing about why I am homeschooling my children, you sick goblin.”

Finally on September 14, she and Ben, 41, shared a joint post, featuring a blue sky and clouds, captioned with a prayer. “If anyone sees us and they feel lighter, let it be your light they see. If anyone sees sadness in a broken house, let them see all of our human brokenness and look for an answer in the house of the Lord,” it reads.
“Give us strength to love, give us your peace and your kindness even as we reject wickedness and let it be what the world sees in me,” the prayer continues. “Not the world’s definition of light, happiness, compassion or renewal. Less of me, more of Jesus, the light of the world. Amen.”
Many fans commented with their support. “Thank you for being courageous and and standing firm in your faith!” wrote one, while another added, “These words of love and compassion that we all need right now.”
