Paris Jackson wants to be excused from the narrative that she was involved in Michael Jackson’s biopic, and is calling Colman Domingo out for his recent comments about her.
Domingo is set to play the Jackson family patriarch, Joe Jackson, in Michael, and during the amfAR benefit gala at the Venice Film Festival, said that Paris and her brother, Prince Jackson, had been supportive of the film.

“They’re very much in support of our film,” Domingo told People about Michael’s children. “I’m excited to be here at amfAR tonight with Paris. It feels like that’s a nice way for us to be together.”
The Euphoria actor also noted that Paris had been “lovely” to him.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Paris explained to what extent she was involved in the Michael biopic.
“[Colman Domingo], don’t be telling people I was ‘helpful’ on the set of a movie I had 0% involvement in lol that is so weird,” Paris posted.
In a second post, Paris added, “I read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest / didn’t sit right with me, and when they didn’t address it, I moved on with my life. Not my monkeys, not my circus. God bless and God speed.”
Paris Jackson denies involvement in Michael Jackson biopic
After Paris’s comments were picked up, she further clarified her participation in the Michael biopic, adding, “I wasn’t involved at all, aside from giving feedback on the first draft and then getting the feedback that [production] was not actually going to address your notes at all.”
“So I just butted out and left it alone because it’s not my project,” she said. “They’re going to make whatever they’re going to make. A big reason why I haven’t said anything up until this point is because I know a lot of you guys are gonna be happy with it. A big section of the film panders to a very specific section of my dad’s fandom that still lives in the fantasy, and they’re gonna be happy with it.”
She continued, “The thing about these biopics is — it’s Hollywood. So it’s fantasy land. It’s not real but it’s sold to you as real and a lot of suger coated … the narrative is being controlled and there’s a lot of inaccuracy and there’s a lot of just full-blown lies. At the end of the day, that doesn’t really fly with me. I don’t really like dishonesty. I spoke up. I wasn’t heard. I fucked off. That’s it. Y’all are gonna like the fucking movie. So just go watch it. Go enjoy it. Do whatever. Leave me out of it.”
Paris noted that she’s read people saying she resents her father, otherwise she would be involved with the film, but says that she would rather not take part in “a movie that’s filled with inaccuracies,” adding, “That’s not my truth. That’s not where I’m coming from. I just prefer honesty over sales and monetary gain. I kind of just don’t want anything to do with that. So I’m gonna fuck off again and I’m gonna keep minding my business. I suggest you do the same.”
The musician also clarified that she had only met Domingo twice, “once at a birthday party and once at the amfAR thing the other night,” noting that “both were hella brief interactions.”
Lionsgate and Universal’s Michael biopic is set to be released on Friday, April 24, 2026. The film, directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Graham King, will also star Nia Long and Miles Teller.
Deadline reached out to Colman Domingo for comment and will up update when we hear back.
