Shia LaBeouf had a rebuking from a judge during his latest court appearance following his arrest in New Orleans earlier this month.
The actor was arrested on February 17 for allegedly ‘terrorizing’ the Louisiana city during Mardi Gras and was charged with two counts of battery over an alleged assault outside a bar.
The 39-year-old was released in the hours that followed his arrest and was initially allowed to leave custody without paying a bond.
However, at the time of his release the allegations about him using homophobic slurs during the reported confrontation was unbeknown to the judge, The Guardian reported, which is why he was able to leave.
LaBeouf was back in court yesterday (February 26) and faced Orleans Parish Criminal Court Judge Simone Levine alongside his lawyer, criminal defense attorney Sarah Chervinsky.

Scolding the Transformers star, the judge said: “This defendant does not take his alcohol addiction seriously.
“This court does not believe he understands the level of seriousness when it comes to these allegations.”
She further called the alleged attack that took place earlier this month a concern for ‘the safety of this larger community, especially relative to a marginalised community that has gone through so much terror’, meaning the LGBTQ+ community.
LaBeouf was ordered to pay $100,000 as part of his new bail terms set out by Judge Levine, as well as being told he must return to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
The actor, who has been open about his sobriety issues in the past, has also been ordered to enrol himself to a drug testing program. She made him take a drugs and alcohol test there and then.

LaBeouf posted bail following the court proceedings and declined to comment to reporters.
“No, I won’t say a word,” he said in a court hallway while returning from his substance testing, adding: “God bless you, leave me alone.”
He has not yet formally entered a plea to the charges.
Also during yesterday’s proceedings, Judge Levine denied a written request by LaBeouf to travel to Rome, Italy, in March for ‘religious observations, including his father’s baptism’.
She proceeded to tell The Peanut Butter Falcon actor to stay away from the victims and the bar where the episode occurred.
LaBeouf is next due in court on March 19, according to PEOPLE.
