Although already fairly well known in the indie bedroom-pop scene for hits such as Look at That Woman and Deeply Still in Love, Role Model – the stage name of Tucker Pillsbury – is only now gaining traction in the mainstream with his song, “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out”.

Pillsbury was born in Portland, Maine, to a father who worked as a property appraiser and a mother who was a special-education teacher.
In a 2019 interview with DIY, Pillsbury recalled being obsessed with Elvis Presley as a toddler and performing for his family dressed as the “Burning Love” singer.
“When I was seven or eight, I used to dress up like Elvis on holidays and perform with my aunt in front of my whole family,” he said. “I had an obsession with him – posters, lunchboxes, giant cut-outs and all.”
