Country star Morgan Wallen has launched his I’m Still The Problem Tour, with some fans only now discovering the origin behind the album’s title.
While the 32-year-old musician has maintained a relatively clean image recently, his past includes multiple public controversies. On X, one observer highlighted that Paramore’s lead vocalist, Haley Williams, has been an outspoken critic of Wallen following his use of racial slurs captured on video.
The footage, secured and released by TMZ, showed Wallen appearing intoxicated while returning home after an evening out. In the recording, he was heard yelling to a companion, “take care of this p— ass mother—,” followed by the N-word.
Following the video’s widespread circulation, Wallen posted a 5-minute apology video on Instagram, explaining the situation and expressing remorse. In the statement, the Tennessee-native said in part, “I’m embarrassed and sorry. I used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slur that I wish I could take back. There are no excuses to use this type of language, ever.”
Wallen clarified that the incident occurred following a “72-hour blender.” He maintained that his use of the word was intended playfully among friends, though he recognized it was inappropriate. Nevertheless, many deemed Wallen’s conduct unforgivable, including Haley, who has openly expressed her disapproval of the country artist.
During a New York Times Popcast interview, Haley confirmed her negative stance toward Wallen, revealing that a lyric on her 2025 album was aimed directly at him. She disclosed that in her track Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party, the line “I’ll be the biggest star at this racist country singer’s bar” specifically referenced Wallen and his Nashville venue, The Bar.
Haley continued, “But I’m always talking about Morgan Wallen, I don’t give a s–t.” Daring Wallen to address her directly, she declared, “Find me at Whole Foods b—h, I don’t care.”
The controversy has resurfaced among fans as Wallen launches his nationwide tour. On Threads, one user posted, “You know what, if Hayley Williams doesn’t like Morgan Wallen, I don’t like him either.”
Another responded, “Same.”
The original poster concluded, “solidarity, sisterhood, and all that.”
