Brandon Blackstock‘s family has banded together following his death.
On Sunday, September 14, Reba McEntire — Brandon’s ex-stepmother — spoke to Entertainment Tonight at the 2025 Emmy Awards, and opened up about how the late talent manager’s kids are coping with the loss.
“We miss him. We miss him every minute,” the country singer, 70. remarked. “The kids are doing well, they’re all bonding together and hanging out with each other, and taking it one day at a time. We know God’s got this.”
Brandon — who passed away in August at 48 years old after a lengthy battle with melanoma — shared kids River, 11, and Remington, 9, with ex-wife Kelly Clarkson. He was also a dad to daughter Savannah and son Seth, whom he shared with his first wife, Melissa Ashworth.

The Happy’s Place actress — who People reports is now engaged to Rex Linn — was married to Brandon’s dad, Narvel Blackstock, from 1989 to 2015. The former couple share a son, Shelby Blackstock, 35.
Following his death in August, McEntire penned a heartfelt tribute to Brandon on Instagram.
“Last week, my stepson/oldest son Brandon Blackstock went home to be with God. His struggle is over and he is in eternal peace in God’s presence,” she wrote in the caption of her post. “There is no one else like him, and I’m thankful for the time we had together. His legacy and laughter will be carried on through his family. Rest in peace cowboy. Happy trails to you til we meet again.”
