Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Eddie Osefo, have broken their silence after being arrested and charged with multiple counts of fraud.
The Real Housewives of Potomac star, 41, and her husband were booked on Thursday, October 9, following a grand jury indictment for insurance fraud, conspiracy insurance fraud and making a false statement to a police officer, according to Us Weekly.
“Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Edward Osefo, are back home safely with their family and in good spirits. They are grateful for the outpouring of concern and support from friends, fans and colleagues,” a representative for the couple told the outlet on Friday, October 10. “The Osefos, alongside their legal team, look forward to their day in court. At this time, they respectfully ask for privacy as they focus on their family and the legal process ahead.”
The pair were booked in Westminster, Maryland, and released the following day after bail was set at $50,000. Prosecutors alleged that the couple claimed a $450,000 personal property loss after reporting a burglary in April 2024.

Police say the couple reported that designer bags and jewelry were stolen, but Wendy was later seen wearing one of the allegedly stolen rings on social media. Investigators also found that other items had been returned for refunds before the burglary report.
Wendy joined The Real Housewives of Potomac in 2020 at the start of season 5. She is a political commentator and professor and was the first Black woman to earn a Ph.D. in Public-Affairs Community Development from Rutgers University, according to her website.
