After 23 grueling days battling each other on a remote island, just five castaways remain in the race to be crowned Sole Survivor and take home the $2 million grand prize.

The landmark all-star season, titled In the Hands of the Fans, has been one of the most dramatic in Survivor history.

The CBS show assembled a supersize cast of 24 returning contestants from across its 25-year run — though some fan favorites were notably absent. Along the way, viewers helped shape the game by voting on key twists, while celebrities including Billie Eilish, Jimmy Fallon and YouTuber MrBeast dropped in for surprise cameos.

The three-hour Survivor 50 finale will air on CBS from 8-11 p.m. ET on Wednesday, May 20.

Who is in the ‘Survivor 50’ finale?

The final five castaways on Survivor 50 are Aubry Bracco, Jonathan Young, Joe Hunter, Tiffany Ervin and Rizo Velovic.

Bracco enters the finale as the most experienced player. The marketing consultant, from Hampton Falls, N.H., first rose to prominence as the runner-up on Season 32 (Kaôh Rōng). She later returned for Game Changers, where she finished fifth, and also had a short stint on Season 38 (Edge of Extinction).

Velovic is coming off an impressive stint on Survivor 49, where he reached the final four, while Hunter finished third in Season 48. Ervin previously placed eighth in Season 46, and Young finished fourth in Season 42.

How much is the ‘Survivor 50’ prize money?

The usual prize money for Survivor winners is $1 million. But this year, the Sole Survivor will claim $2 million, following a twist introduced by MrBeast.

That’s not the only money on offer. A separate $100,000 prize will be handed to the season’s fan-favorite castaway, as decided by an online poll.

What’s next for ‘Survivor’?

Survivor 50 isn’t the end of the franchise — unsurprising news given the show’s popularity and longevity. Survivor 51 has already been filmed in Fiji and will air on CBS this fall, while cameras will start rolling on Season 52 within days, according to presenter Jeff Probst.

The new castaways will “be launching us into something new,” Probst said. Speaking at an event Tuesday, he added: “Our job is to keep the game off balance… You cannot let [future players] know what’s coming. They’re way too good.”

The show’s team has “not looked” at ideas for Season 53 yet, Probst said, but the host said he was already considering ways to shake up the format.

“I’m not saying they’re good ideas,” he said. “I’m just saying, if you were in my head, every conversation I have, there is a different part of my brain going, ‘How do you get this into the game?'”
