He’s a born and bred New Yorker, and now Liam Obergfoll is moving from acting roles to sharing his life on Next Gen NYC as he joins the cast for Season 2. The 28-year-old truly does it all, from acting to writing to directing and so much more.

“Liam’s lore is crazy,” Liam’s close friend Brooks Marks shared during the Next Gen NYC Season 2 premiere. “He’s gone from Nickelodeon star, to Law & Order. Now, you’re just yourself.”

The 28-year-old opened up about his dreams during an interview with Bravo Insider, sharing he “wants to make movies and be respected in the industry.” He added, “Hopefully have a feature film in one of the big three festivals.”

Liam Obergfoll’s career in television and movies

Liam’s career in the entertainment industry kicked off back in 2014, when he appeared as a teenager in the TV movie Every Witch Way: Spellbound, as well as in ten episodes of Every Witch Way the television series, according to IMDB. He then starred in the series Talia In The Kitchen in 2015, playing the role of Tyson Fuccinelli. He’s since appeared in multiple TV shows and movies, including Law & Order in 2022.

He joked with producers during the Next Gen NYC June 24 premiere that he auditioned to be “the blonde one” in the series Heated Rivalry, but didn’t get the role—blaming his lack of a Russian accent.

According to his BravoTV.com bio, Liam recently made a career pivot from acting and “stepped into writing and directing.”

Details on Liam Obergfoll’s hobbies and interests

Television and movies aren’t the only thing on Liam’s mind, as he’s picked up other side hustles as well. “What do I do? That’s a loaded question. When I’m not acting, writing, directing, I’m a ski instructor [and] volunteer fireman,” he explained to producers during Next Gen NYC’s June 24 premiere.

He opened up more about being a volunteer firefighter during the Next Gen NYC After Show. “Last year I was doing firefighter class. Started with my exterior course, and then just finished my interior course,” he shared and revealed his score. “86! I got an 86.”

Liam showed off his athletic side during the Next Gen NYC Season 2 premiere, as Brooks joined him for a game of hockey. “I play on three men’s league hockey teams, which I love,” Liam added. He also listed his other favorite pastimes: “I ride horses. I ride motorcycles in my spare time. I surf when I can.”

He confided in Bravo Insider his advice for navigating The Big Apple: “The best way to get around New York City is on a motorcycle. You’ve got to be aggressive.”

Charlie Zakkour and Shai Fruchter learned another little-known fact about Liam during the After Show: Liam collects knives.

“I wouldn’t say I have a lot, but I have a couple of knives,” Liam admitted while on FaceTime with Shai in the After Show studio.

“Nice. Interesting. We were wondering if that fits your Pinterest aura kinda vibe or not,” Shai commented.

Liam Obergfoll opens up on his home life and growing up in Manhattan

Liam spilled more tea on his home life as a native New Yorker during Next Gen NYC’s June 24 premiere.

“I grew up in Manhattan. My parents are not [Real] Housewives. They’re not celebrities. But like, they’re successful in their own way,” he shared with producers. “My parents have a house in upstate New York. That’s where my horse lives. I love him to death—his name’s Chewy.”

Liam introduced two of his friends, Jackson and Kendall White, ahead of Emira D’Spain’s birthday festivities in the Season 2 premiere, adding, “We went to middle school and like the beginning of high school together.”

“Me and Jackson and Kendall met [at prep school] on the Upper West Side. We’ve just kinda been homies ever since,” Liam continued.

He opened up on what it was like to grow up in New York City. “Growing up in the city is nothing like Gossip Girl. However, it’s everything like Gossip Girl,” he joked of the television series. “You’re in high school, going out and raging, and like yeah, there were kids who owned hotels, right?”

In the Next Gen NYC After Show video above, the cast opened up about their initial feelings on Liam. While Brooks noted he was thrilled that the rest of the group would get to know Liam’s “super fun, outgoing, positive” side, Riley Burruss admitted it took a few meetings for Liam to make a lasting impression on her.

Although Georgia McCann praised Liam’s “varied interests,” a few other cast members had questions on the subject. “How do you have that much time?” Emira D’Spain asked, while Charlie quipped Liam finds his activities “off of Pinterest.”

Liam teased drama to come on Next Gen NYC Season 2 to Bravo Insider as he shared, “I don’t think you’ll expect anything that happens.”

As far as meshing with the cast, he conceded he “definitely didn’t start off on some people’s good side.”

Still, he had good first impressions of the friend group. “They’re all way more friendly than I thought,” he told Bravo Insider. “I was expecting to jump into a pool with some sharks—it’s a bunch of dolphins.”

He did share a warning: “I would say no one can keep a secret,” and added, “Careful what you tell Shai.”

His BravoTV.com bio also teases a possible love connection during Season 2: “Confident and direct, Liam has his eye on someone in the group, and he’s not shy about making it known.”
