Matt Damon is here to make every parent feel better about life. The star of Netflix’s crime drama The Rip, the father of four daughters is proving that even movie stars get bossed around by their children. Damon posed alongside best friend and co-star Ben Affleck on the red carpet for his latest project, receiving praise from photographers and unsolicited commentary from his daughters. The Damon girls were just looking out for dad, who thankfully took all of their feedback in stride.

Check out the video from the premiere of The Rip, which stars Good Will Hunting co-stars Damon and Affleck. The Academy Award–winning duo also produced the film through their Artists Equity banner. At this week’s red carpet premiere of the Netflix film, Damon and Affleck cheerfully posed for cameras, much to the delight of photographers happy to see the longtime collaborators together once again.

‘Why Are You Standing Like That?’ Dad Gets Notes

Damon looks comfortable posing for the cameras but pauses when his four daughters, standing off to the side, begin offering “notes” on dad’s posture. “Why are you standing like this?” asks one of his daughters as she imitates Damon’s stance. Damon laughs, taking the would-be critique in stride, knowing his girls are just looking out for him.

Matt Damon’s legions of fans quickly joined the comment section, forming an online support group for parents of teenagers who also receive regular “feedback” from their kids.

“If your teen daughter doesn’t roast you occasionally, you are parenting wrong,” one commenter wrote.

Another shared, “I love how no matter how famous you are your kids will humble you real quick.”

“Nothing like a real roasting from your daughter to bring you back to earth,” added another.

“No one, and I mean NO ONE, can humble you like your own children,” echoed one emphatic fan.

Matt Damon’s Family Life

Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana, are parents to four daughters, the eldest being Luciana’s daughter from a previous relationship. The couple met in 2003 and have been married since 2005. A self-described “girl dad,” Damon keeps much of his personal life private and only rarely makes public appearances with his daughters Alexia Barroso (25), Isabella Damon (19), Gia Damon (17), and Stella Damon (15).

This week’s The Rip premiere marks a rare public appearances for three of the four Damon girls and one of the first time Matt and Luciana have posed with their daughters together on the red carpet.

From Good Will Hunting to The Rip

Matt Damon rose to fame with his breakthrough performance in the 1997 drama Good Will Hunting, which he co-wrote with Affleck. The duo earned an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and launched into superstar status. Damon has since built a career that balances critical acclaim and box office success, including roles in The Bourne Identity franchise and the Ocean’s Eleven films.

Damon and Luciana remain one of Hollywood’s most enduring couples, carefully protecting their family’s privacy. And while Matt Damon’s daughters may have a few notes about his red carpet poses, their playful commentary is a reminder that to them, he isn’t a movie star at all. He’s just dad.
