Zendaya spun a dark web in an Ashi Studio couture look for Monday night’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” Los Angeles premiere.

The Emmy-winning “Euphoria” actress, who was styled by longtime collaborator Law Roach, wore a gown from the luxury label’s fall 2026 couture collection — a black gown with a plunging neckline, voluminous knee-length skirt and flowing train.
Fabric ruching on the skirt created an accordion effect, with the dark material gathered for a dramatic juxtaposition to the structured, streamlined bodice. The top of the dress was sleek, defined by wispy antennae rising from the bodice cups.

Speaking to Variety, Roach described the Ashi Studio design as “an abstract way to present the spider,” adding to speculation about the message behind Zendaya’s method dressing throughout the press tour and whether the designs could hold clues to her character MJ’s fate. The gown’s inky palette and tendril-like details also evoked the Venom symbiote. In Marvel Comics, Mary Jane Watson became Venom’s host in 2025, though the films follow a separate continuity and no connection has been confirmed.
The black widow-style look was further enhanced by Zendaya’s black lacy pumps, featuring small spiders, which continued the arachnid motif. As for jewelry, Zendaya wore the lavalliere diamants pendant earrings from Boucheron‘s Histoire de Style, Art Deco high jewelry collection, set with diamonds, onyx and black lacquer in white gold.

Zendaya’s glam went full method too. The actress’ hair was styled with a wet-look finish, with sinuous wisps framing her face. A smoky eye and glossy lip further emphasized the look’s dark glamour.
Couturier Mohammed Ashi leaned into both Emily Brontë’s “Wuthering Heights” and the Surrealist Ball given by Baroness Marie-Hélène de Rothschild in 1972 for his fall 2026 couture collection. The season also coincided with the label’s 20th anniversary.

“His characters came clad in a sculptural minidress edged with leather worked to look like a broken antique porcelain doll; a silk faille jacket dress decorated with wine flagons made of 3D-printed metal elements and opaline glass, or a sequined sheath gown in a fawn’s delicate mottled motif with minute antlers extending behind the shoulders,” Lily Templeton wrote in WWD’s review of the collection.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” follows Peter Parker’s Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland, as he navigates a world in which he’s been completely forgotten, battles a new adversary and tries to save the ones he loves. The film hits theaters Friday.
