Chad Spodick’s cause of death has been confirmed as suicide. The Finding Prince Charming star’s death was announced when his devastated family set up a GoFundMe page on December 4. The TV personality, who died aged 42, was best known for appearing on season one of the American reality dating series back in 2016. A spokesperson for the Boca Raton Police Department confirmed Spodick’s cause of death as suicide, but indicated that the case is still open. No further details are available.
The social fundraising platform will help his mother, Felice Harwood, cover funeral expenses and other unexpected bills related to his death. The GoFundMe page said: “Our hearts are shattered as we share the devastating news of the loss of our beautiful, kind, and generous son, brother and friend Chad. His passing was sudden and heartbreaking, and we are still struggling to comprehend a world without his light.”
The statement described Spodick as a deeply caring person who devoted himself to supporting others, adding that his mother is facing “unimaginable grief” following his passing.
The post continued: “Chad was the type of person who poured himself into others. He lifted up his friends, encouraged everyone around him to grow, to advocate for themselves, and to believe in their own worth.
“His love for animals was unmatched — he cared deeply for every creature, especially his four beloved dogs and his bird, Cosmo.
“The world was brighter with Chad in it, and those who were lucky enough to know him felt the warmth of his heart every day.He leaves behind his mother, Felice, who is now faced not only with unimaginable grief but with the unexpected financial burden of funeral arrangements and ongoing living expenses.”
The GoFundMe page added: “Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference and help ease some of the weight on his family as they navigate this loss. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is deeply appreciated.
“Thank you for helping us honor Chad’s memory and support the people — and animals — he loved most.”
Spodick was last active on Instagram when he uploaded a selfie on November 21. His heartbroken niece commented: “My beautiful uncle fly high uncle chad love you forever please donate if you can to support our family any contributions are appreciated.”
In 2016, Spodick appeared as a contestant on Finding Prince Charming, the dating series hosted by NSYNC’s Lance Bass. According to his official IMDb page, he also held roles in other projects including The Yards (2000) and The Boys of Sunset Ridge (2001).
Beyond his television career, Spodick’s true “lifelong love and passion” lay in aviation. A seasoned pilot with years of experience, he went on to co-found the luxury charter company Goldsuite Jets in 2020.
