B.C. is a beautiful place to live. It’s a point we can likely all agree on.
So it comes as no surprise that celebrities love to call this province home, too. Whether vacation escapes or permanent abodes, these Hollywood star maintain close ties to B.C.

It doesn’t get much more hometown than building your mansion across the street from the elementary school you attended. That’s what the award-winning, megaselling crooner and father of four did.

Valued at close to $30 million, Casa Bublé boasts the usual mansion stuff but takes it up a notch and includes an indoor hockey rink so the Canucks-crazy Bublé can lace ‘em up whenever he feels like it.
“That was the goal. It was like this one thing: where can I just go with my buddies and be so stupid and not worry?” Bublé said about his funhouse in a TikTok video.

After years of calling Los Angeles home the Will & Grace star has returned to Vancouver.
“After three decades in L.A., I’m delighted to be back here full time,” said McCormack when he was honoured with an award from the Directors Guild of Canada B.C. in January.
The Toronto-born actor first came here decades ago. Since then, he has worked here in theatre and many TV and film productions, including starring in three seasons of the Netflix sci-fi drama Travelers

Nanaimo native Diana Krall — there is a plaza named after her in that cityo — and her English musician have a luxury home in West Vancouver and an island retreat in Nanoose Bay.
Krall’s song Departure Bay from her 2004 album The Girl in the Other Room, is co-written with Elvis Costello and is about her home town.
On the mainland Costello has been spotted pursuing the aisles of Park Royal’s Whole Foods. During concert stops in Vancouver he has greeted the audience with “it’s good to be home.”
Another fun fact: back in 1978 Costello’s video for What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace Love and Understanding was shot around Vancouver, including in the forest of Stanley Park.

Pamela Anderson (Ladysmith)
Famously discovered on the Jumbotron at a B.C. Lions football game, Anderson completely renovated her family compound in Ladysmith., with her HGTV TV series — Pamela’s Garden of Eden — chronicling the transformation.
Recently the former Playboy cover girl and Baywatch star has had a career rebirth as an actress to be taken seriously. When she isn’t working she is home in Ladysmith. “Canada is my sanctuary. It has always been the place where I can reset, find calm, and feel grounded,” Anderson said on Instagram.
Joni Mitchell (Half Moon Bay/Sechelt)
The legendary singer-songwriter built her Sunshine Coast retreat in the early 1970s to escape all the “mass public attention.” At one point she described Los Angeles as her “workplace” and B.C. as her “heartbeat.”
“I built a stone cottage up on the northern coast of British Columbia. There I planned to spend the rest of my life as a hermit,” Mitchell said in 1988 on a Norwegian talk show.
Well, she didn’t become a hermit, but she is Sunshine Coast regular and is often spotted riding the ferry and frequenting local spots like The Shop on the Shore in Davis Bay.
The horror movie The Monkey was shot in the Vancouver.
Osgood Perkins (Vancouver)
Horror film director and writer Perkins is a new addition to the Vancouver landscape having moved here with his wife and young son just a few years ago to make movies. His Vancouver shot resumé includes Longlegs, The Monkey Keeper and The Young People. He has set up the production company Phobos with Vancouver-native Chris Ferguson of Oddfellows, Entertainment.
“The air is nice, the food is good, the people are relaxed, and I pay a lot of taxes. So, I guess I’m a Vancouverite,” Perkins said in 2025. “In Vancouver, I find the public energy to be extremely positive and very laid back, and very live and let live, which has become increasingly difficult to find in America.”

Vancouver native Kreuk moved back to Vancouver full time in 2022 after a decade or so in Toronto. The Eric Hamber High School graduate spent the early part of her career working in a lot in Vancouver, including starring in the Smallville TV series. Now she is again close to home as she has been co-starring with Rossif Sutherland in the Gibsons shot TV series Small Town Murder.
“I’d rather walk than drive a car. In Vancouver, where I am from, you can get to just about anywhere you need to go on foot. Even if it’s raining, I’ll go out for a stroll. I just love that,” Kreuk says on her IMDB page.

Comedian Chelsea Handler often shares photos from one of her favourite escapes: Whistler. During the holidays, Handler joked about how busy her abode in the popular B.C. ski resort becomes.
“When I come to Whistler for Christmas, my house turns into a youth hostel,” she shared in an Instagram post. Shel has also been spotted around the province, including a trip to Tofino with Jann Arden in 2025.
Jacob Tremblay (Langley)
As a child actor, Jacob Tremblay earned critical acclaim for his role in the 2015 film Room. Now 19, the Vancouver-born actor still calls the Lower Mainland home, reportedly living in Langley with family.

Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger was long associated with a mega mansion in Abbotsford. But as of 2023 the rocker has been linked to a custom-built abode in Langley.
According to a post on the site for local builder Versa Homes, the craftsman-style home is situated on a five-acre parcel and features a 6,000-square-foot underground garage. The home size? An impressive 17,000 square feet.

Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard can often be spotted in his hometown of Vancouver. In an interview with People magazine, Wolfhard told the outlet he enjoys living with his family in the familiar city.
“I lived alone for a few years, I guess two years, and then I moved back in with my family for a year. And then, last year, I was living alone in Atlanta for the year while shooting Stranger Things, but I have since moved back in with my family,” he said. “We have a place in Vancouver. We all have our separate space, but we still live together, and it’s great.”
Bryan Adams (Gastown -The Warehouse)
While not an official living space, Bryan Adams’ The Warehouse studio is a home away from home when the Canadian music superstar is in town to work on new tunes. The renowned recording setup has four studios spaces as well as a photo studio. Adams reportedly permanently resides in London.

Musician Sarah McLachlan is open about her love of Vancouver. In fact, the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter loves the city so much, she opened her own music school here in 2002.
While the star lives in West Vancouver, she can often be spotted at the Sarah McLachlan School of Music on E 7th Ave in Vancouver.

Rising star Anna Cathcart is no stranger to a busy calendar. The star of the Netflix series XO was working on projects while completing her studies at the University of B.C.
The star, who was born and raised in Vancouver, likely spends much of her time on sets around the world, yet she still refers to the city as “home.”

Without a doubt, B.C.’s buzziest celebrity so far in 2026 is Heated Rivalry star Hudson Williams. The B.C.-born-and-raised actor has been claimed by several cities looking to catch the wave of popularity around the Crave show. Despite longtime connections to Kamloops, the actor most recently resided in downtown Vancouver. He moved to the city in 2020 to attend Langara College.
While his star is shooting through the Hollywood stratosphere at the moment, Williams doesn’t appear eager to cut ties with the city anytime soon.
“If I had f—k-you money, I’d get a little apartment in LA and a villa in Italy, as well as Vancouver. People are like, ‘Isn’t Vancouver boring?’ Yeah. That’s what I like about it,” he said in a recent interview with Wonderland Magazine.
