Recalling his early days, the 49-year-old stated that he used to have “strong opinions” as a young actor while filming. However, he didn’t voice his “creative disagreements.” Over the years, he realized that his viewpoint seemingly matters a lot and also becomes his “professional responsibility.”
“They don’t say ‘this producer’s movie flopped’ or ‘this director’s’ — that’s me. So if I’m going to be on that headline, I’d like to be the architect of my own demise or success,” Reynolds explained. Understanding his role as an artist, the Hollywood star decided to “take control” of things he’s sure of on the set. Moreover, he would also welcome feedback and discussions.
Furthermore, the father of four mentioned that agreeing to everything might make him feel “ill.” “I say, here’s the s—– version, and I’m saying that because I want dissent,” the star added. Such creative conversation might lead to an “incredibly fun, sparkly idea,” he continued.
